One of our Councillors, Diane Bentham is taking part in the Great North Run on the 8th September to raise money for Blood Bikes.
Blood Bikes are a charity run solely by unpaid volunteers who deliver essential blood and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites. This service is provided free of charge to the NHS so they can put the money saved back into front line patient care.
Diane will be running with her daughters Fay & Sophie and friend Tracy. Diane is blind and is the only experienced runner in the team, although she is currently recovering from a broken ankle. They are determined to raise as much money as possible for a fantastic charity and you can make a donation to their cause. Everyone at Kingswood Town Council wishes you lots of luck for the big day Diane!
