Wellbeing support
Kingswood Town Council is delighted to be funding a full time Kingswood-focused Wellbeing Practitioner who is employed by Creative Youth Network. Using the techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) they deliver one-to-one and small group support for children and young people living or attending school in Kingswood and who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioral difficulties. CBT can also help support children experiencing anxiety in the transition phase between primary and secondary schools. The service is offered to those aged from late primary school age to 19, and to 24 for those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
The Wellbeing Practitioner will also be present and active in the open access centre-based youth sessions and outreach sessions using the mobile youth vehicle (Doris) as well as in local schools.
